It’s the third attempt for the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest already! After two entries which were not very much donated with points, this year could change everything! Slovakia is also back after a long absence from the contest, so that will guarantee some points for sure. But this year’s entry is one of the most unpredictable and unusual songs at all. As the name of the band already tells it’s a gipsy band which is quite popular not only in it’s country. Gipsy.cz is already touring throughout Europe and has been nominated as one of the best newcomer bands by MTV. That sounds quite promising in advance. The band also stand for the rights of the Gipsies and is proud to represent the Czech Republic.
The song itself is reminding a bit of the sound of Queen and Freddie Mercury, which is also visible in the video clip and you can hear in the harmony of the singer’s voice. The song is far away from pop and chanson, it’s a kind of music which has never been heard at Eurovision before, so maybe this is the dark horse in Moscow?
