It was just a matter of time when this announcement have come. Now its official, the EBU together with the Dutch broadcasters AVROTROS, NOS and NPO had to cancel this year’s ESC in Rotterdam. It will be the first time on history since the beginning in 1956 that a Eurovision Song Contest has been reversed. This is a total new situation for all of us.

The group Little Big is a very unusual Russian band with very weird video clips and crazy songs, they have a huge fan community and the video clips receive very high click numbers.
The Maltese have determined their representative via the X Factor show, they have chosen the former Junior ESC winner Destiny Chukunyere from 2015. The song has been found at a late stage, which has been co-written by Borislav Milanov, who is also the composer for Germany and Bulgaria, even the Austrian representative Cesar Sampson from 2018 is involved in the Maltese entry.
What an unusual song title for a song from Azerbaijan! The song has now been published and the singer Efendi will perform that song in Rotterdam. There has been a Greek singer named Cleopatra once in 1992, but never a song with that name. The modern tune with some Egyptian oriental touch and a conjuring chant are quite unique and interesting.
As previously reported there were two songs for the public to choose from in an online battle for 48 hours. At the end there was a tight race and the song “Freaky!” received 51.6% of the votes. Both songs were from equal quality.
The North Macedonian broadcaster MRKTV has also made an internal selection for the ESC. Vasil Garvanliev will be the representative in Rotterdam. The song with the video clip has now been revealed. “You” is a rhythmic dance song with a cool accordion vibe.
The Bulgarian singer VICTORIA has been announced by the broadcaster BNT. The song for Rotterdam has been released now, it’s called “Tears Getting Sober”. Bulgaria has a very good standing in the ranking in recent years, since 2016 they always qualified for the Grand Final and two Top 10 places were possible.
The national Portuguese final, which is called “Festival da Canção 2020“ was held in Elvas for the first time. Eight finalist battled for the ticket to Rotterdam. These finalists have been selected in two previously held semi finals.
