Tonight the Greeks will determine the Greek entry for Eurovision! Last year Greece did not reach the Grand Final for the first time since the Semi Final system exists. That song was selected internally. This year the singer has been determined by the Greek broadcaster: Demy (original name Dimitra Papadea). The Greek hopeful is going to sing three songs, all composed or co-composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos, who is quite well known in the Eurovision scene as he composedseveral songs in the past years, all of them reached the Top 10.
Those songs were:
“Work Your Magic” for Koldun (Belarus) 2007, 6th place
“Shady Lady” for Ani Lorak (Ukraine) 2008, 2nd place
“This Is Our Night” for Sakis Rouvas (Greece) 2009, 7th place
“Hold Me” for Farid Mammadov (Azerbaijan) 2013, 2nd place
“Shine” for the Tolmachevy Sisters (Russia) 2014, 7th place
“You Are The Only One” for Sergey Lazarev (Russia) 2016, 3rd place
These are the three songs Demy is going to perform:
“When the morning comes around” (Dimitris Kontopoulos, John Ballard)
“Angels” (Dimitris Kontopoulos, Romy Papadea)
“This is love” (Dimitris Kontopoulos, John Ballard, Romy Papadea)

About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
