What a surprise the Swedish Television has announced: Loreen is back at the Melodifestivalen! Loreen has won the 2012 ESC in Baku with “Euphoria” and had a huge hit with it in the worldwide charts. Now she is back at the place where everything has started for her at the Swedish national selection as one of the contestants with the song “Statements”. Can another victory be achieved for her?
The Swedish Melodifestivalen is always known for surprises and the competition is very strong. Another competitor this year another Swedish ESC winner Charlotte Perrelli. Furthermore there are other familiar faces to be found on the tableau of the 2017 edition: Ace Wilder (very well known in Sweden, shaped up very well lately), Mariette (2nd 2016), Roger Pontare (two times representative for Sweden), Krista Siegfrieds (Finland’s representative 2013). This is going to be a very interesting battlefield and worth to watch, even the semi finals, which start on February 4th 2017, the final will be on March 11th 2017 in Stockholm. The hosts will be Clara Henry, David Lindgren and Hasse Andersson.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
