Today the second half of the first semi-final had their first rehearsals on the magnificent stage. For some of the singers it was quite a challenge to find the correct start position or to find the right tone. The first four days the press and fans are not allowed to monitor the rehearsals in the Globe Arena directly, only from the big screens in the press centre. This is due to the bad experiences which happened years ago, when the first attempts with mistakes were directly posted via Facebook and YouTube. To avoid this, it is not allowed to film from the video screens in the press centre. This protects the singer from bad comments and embarrassments. And of course a lot of artist and delegation have the right to change designs, camera stands, lightning or any other things.
From Friday on the full participant list of the Semi Final 1 will be rehearsed in one flow. The rehearsal time is shorter and the delegations are being asked to give a real press conference. Furthermore two finalists will also have their first longer rehearsals and that’s France and Spain. And then on Saturday it’s time for the Semi Final 2 with three finalist: Germany, Italy and the UK. The Sunday is reserved for the finalists. The rehearsals will only go until the afternoon, as Sunday is the big day for the welcome reception and the red carpet.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
