This year the stage for the Eurovision Song Contest supposed to be one of the most modern in history. There are a lot of optical effects and clear lines. There won’t be soft shapes instead there will be masculine and angular shapes dominating. The designers are Frida Arvidsson and Viktor Brattström. The unique LED techniques offers opportunities which allow a 3D effect, as you could walk even in-between the installations, there is a special depth with a lot of optical illusions.
Altogether SVT has installed 600 square meters of LED lights, 26 cameras and 1500 lamps. It’s going to be the largest production ever in Sweden.
The planning of the stage has already started last September. Ola Melzig is the technical director and responsible for everything concerned with the stage such as sound, lightning, pyrotechnics. Ola has also been in the same responsibly position in the year 2000 and 2013.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
