The Romanian broadcaster TVR has arranged a lavish national final from the 2021 European Capital of Culture Baia Mare. The opening of the show was a truly Romanian experience with a lot of nice pictures and great music.
The surprise of the night, Mihai – the former Romanian ESC representative from 2006 with “Tornero” (4th place) could not succeed with his song “Paradiso”, he only came second last (5th place). This might be a big disappointment for Mihai, as he believed in his song, but it was not as strong as “Tornero”.
From six finalists, Ovidiu Anton could convince the Romanian televoters with his musical-styled song “Moment Of Silence” with a clear lead to the follow ups.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
