Beside of the three live shows of the Eurovision Song Contest, the host city also offers an interesting program for the citizens and visitors. According to the Swedish broadcaster SVT the welcome reception and red carpet ceremony will take place in the beautiful town hall of Stockholm. The “Euroclub” where all artists and fans can meet and celebrate will be located in front of the Royal Castle at the waterfront – this building needs to be build. The Eurovillage will be located in the Royal gardens – a popular place in the heart of the city.
All these place are placed in downtown Stockholm and easy to reach. Christer Björkman, who is in charge of the this year’s production uttered: "The choice of the Stockholm City Hall for the opening ceremony and the Royal Garden for the Eurovision Village feels just right, but what really stands out is the unique location of the Euroclub, at one of Stockholm's most beautiful places, at the waterfront in front of the Royal Palace and will be magic”.
So there will be a lot to do in Stockholm this May.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
