During the last five days, the Wiener Stadthalle has received many visitors from all over Europe, mainly press people, performers and fans. The rehearsals of the Eurovision Song Contest have begun. That time tremendously important for the contestants to align with the given borders from the arena and the show production team with their own expectations. The sound, the light and everything needs to be coordinated.
Furthermore it is important to familiarize with the facilities of the press centre, the press conference hall, the interview schedules and press inquiries. Not to forget the areas: catering, pigeon holes, backstage and delegation area. All the 40 delegations must follow a strict schedule with rehearsing time, time in the viewing room (to judge the performance by the team), in respect of all previous mandatory things like dressing rooms, make-up and hair facilities rooms and every delegation has a little room to prepare themselves. Some to rehearse the song or just have a cup of tea.
From the production side it needs to be a smooth and easy flowchart, country after country. Every entries has it’s specifications like special elements like a couch or chandelier on stage. Guaranteeing a quick change for each country there are heaps of helping hands from the technical crew.
And there are a lot of people in the background, working for catering, transport, security, cleaning, etc. to make this mega event alive.
