The fourth day was full of highlights with some of the favourites of this year’s ESC. The press centre has become quite packed. There probably won’t be many seats left next. Good to see that the Eurovision Song Contest is still attracting more and more people.

Unfortunately, the Icelandic singer Maria did not felt well and the paramedics had to come into the interview box. All interviews have been cancelled for Iceland that day. By now Maria has recovered fortunately.
Israel’s entry was highly awaited and did not disappoint. Nadav was wearing golden sport shoes, the entire stage is in golden colours. The background dancers give a sexy appeal to this entry. A long applause in the press centre proved that Israeli entry is one of the top dance acts this year.
Aminata from Latvia had a stunning rehearsal. Her exotic look combined with a beautiful red robe and a fascinating illuminated stage. Aminata shows a great self confidence in her entry. The Latvian entry is probably the most extraordinary and unusual songs of this year.
Elnur from Azerbaijan had a dark stage with a full moon and some dancers act like wolves which is a bit redundant. This was nice but not too overwhelming as many people hoped. Elnur has a very strong voice and this counts most in this dramatic act.
A golden floor has been chosen to put Iceland in the right light. Maria appear barefoot on stage like many singers before in ESC history, Sandy Shaw was the only one winning the ESC barefoot in 1968 in Vienna. The background choir consists of the runner ups from the Icelandic national final.
One of the highlights today was the rehearsal of Sweden. Måns Zelmerlöw was wearing the same outfit like in the Melodifestivalen in March. The choreography has not changed at all. Only the stickman had to be modified, as the original one has been under copyright. Måns obviously liked to be on stage and enjoyed every second, even if there some wrongly placed light spots.
Switzerland also had a solid rehearsal, no big mistakes, it went all smoothly. Maybe too smoothly to attract the viewer’s attention.
