Denmark has found its song for 2014. In a spectacular show ten participants have been fighting to represent the host country in May. The show took place in Odense (Island of Fyn) in a relatively small arena. The stage design was cool; a first outlook at the Copenhagen stage and design could be recognized.
Last year’s ESC winner Emmelie de Forest opened the show with her song “Teardrops” in the first interval act she presented her new song, which is also the theme song of the 2014 contest “Rainmaker”. This was very nicely made especially when all the singers accompanied Emmelie singing the chorus together.
The ten entries were all of high quality and each one of them could have made the country proud. There was a televoting to determine the super final. These were: Basim with “Cliché Love Song”, Michael Rune feat. Natascha Bessez with “Wanna be loved” and Rebekka Thornbech with “Your Lies”. There has also been a jury, but they were only there for determine the winner out of the three super finalists and it was obvious that the jury was not happy with the televote result. Then they picked Basim with “Cliché Love Song”, a soul song with a good dance grove.
The second interval act was something really special. Former Danish singers sang their hits in front of an enthused audience: Rollo & King, Kirsten & Søren and Birthe Kjær.
