There not even 200 days left until the next Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcasted around the world live from Copenhagen, Denmark. In a lot of countries many topics are being discussed right now, in regards of the participation and the selection modus. While the host broadcaster DR is now creating the show concept and organizing the execution of the mega event.
Eurovision.tv has revealed more details when it comes to the location and venue. As we already know the ESC will take place on an island, which used to be an industrial area of the Copenhagen port, close by the city centre. The organizers are keen to make this location as hip as possible with more value for all visitors, singers and journalists. That’s why the tourist board “Wonderful Copenhagen” is involved in this planning. There should be place for bars, restaurants and event stages.
The stage is going to be a centre point in the middle of the hall, according to the information from the stage designer Claus Zier. The motto “Join Us” will be reflected in the stage design, when the stage will be surrounded by the audience. The challenge is to keep the rustic charm of the building of the B&W Hallerne in combination with the modern elements of today. The major challenge is the acoustic quality in the arena. This will definitely be one of the most unusual venues in the history of the ESC.
