This year we can see that it’s getting popular to do last minute changes regarding the country’s Eurovision entries. For some countries it has already been usual to change the song before the deadline like Belarus and the Ukraine. The big question is why do they change the songs, which have already been approved by juries and televoters? All the effort is for nothing?
Bulgaria has stated copyright issues for the last minute change, while Belarus declared that the singer prefers the new song. Also FYR Macedonia has announced a possible song change. Hopefully, the rest of the participants won’t follow this. Unless the change is to the better, nobody complains and everything is good but in these two mentioned cases it’s the opposite! Bulgaria and Belarus have decided to exchange strong with weak songs. The price is high and at the end the frustration will be enormous that there won’t be a place left in the grand final. So sometimes it’s better to stand to decision once made.
