Last night the winner of the Eesti Laul has been chosen, it’s Birgit Õigemeel with “Et uus saaks alguse” which means “This could be the beginning of something new”. The national final in Estonia was held in the great Nokia Music Hall in Tallinn. In the opening act, last year’s singer Ott Lepland sang a special version of “Kuula” with a choir. The show was packed with a great variety of music, pop, rock, folk, ballads and very unusual music from Winnie Puh – a kind of pogo style music with a crazy entertaining approach.
Altogether there were ten songs in the final and two entries have been elected in the super final it was Birgit Õigemeel and Grete Paia with “Päästke noored hinged”. At the end Birgit could convince the Estonian televoters. So Estonia will send another ballad to the ESC. Last year’s entry “Kuula” made a respectable 6th rank.
