There are quite a few singers who have been singing at the Eurovision Song Contest in past and are eager to do it again. Obviously this event has such a special atmosphere for the singers that the once-in-a-lifetime-experience of three minutes is not enough. The interacting between the singers in the preparation weeks, the excitement, the competition and the glamour with the media attention is enormously high. So why not giving it another try?
This year we have three repeaters: Jónsi from Iceland who is going to sing with Greta, he had its first appearance in 2004 with “Heaven” and made the 16th place. Furthermore there are the twin brothers Jedward from Ireland, who entered last year’s contest in Düsseldorf with “Lipstick” and made an 8th rank, this year they have a smoother song calls “Waterline” with the support of formerly ESC winner Linda Martin. Finally Željko Joksimović from Serbia gives it another try, who had its debut in 2004 with “Lane Moje” and came 2nd.
They all have something in common; they all sang in the Grand Final in the past, this year they need to pass the Semi Finals. Jedward and Željko know how hard the Semi Final qualification round can be. So it’s also very interesting to see how they will shape up at the end, who will make it to the Grand Final and if so, which place can be achieved. Even Eurovision winners who entered the ESC again failed at the end and could not get the crown for a second time like Niamh Kavanagh from Ireland and Charlotte Perelli from Sweden.
