The motto of this year is “Light your fire!”, which is a hint to the slogan of Azerbaijan’s slogan “Land of Fire”. There are many open fire sources all over the country, due to the plenty gas in place. The shape of the logo is a flower-like flame in yellow with a red mosaic background. From the whole arrangement it can be imagined how the producers are going to design the stage and show.
Whilst the official motto and logo has been presented last night for the first time the official key handover by the majors of Düsseldorf and Baku took place. The main reason for that event was the allocation draw, which determines in which part of which semi final the countries are competing. There were different pots to avoid neighbourhood voting.
The Big 5 countries (Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain and Italy) as well as the host country Azerbaijan are automatically set for the final. It has been determined in which semi final the Big 5 countries are able to vote Semi Final 1: Azerbaijan, Italy and Spain; Semi Final 2: United Kingdom, France and Germany. The draw of the running order will take place in May. The allocation draw is important for the planning of the arrival of the delegations travelling to Baku.
