After an exciting first Semi Final the first 10 qualifiers have been determined by the televoters and juries, these are in order of appearance in the final: Finland #1, Lithuania #4, Hungary #5, Greece #6, Russia #10, Switzerland #13, Azerbaijan #19, Iceland #21, Serbia #24 and Georgia #25. For the first time since the qualifier rounds have been introduced in 2004 Turkey and Armenia did not make it in the final. Finland is now starting on #1 and opens the grand final with a superb ballad and Georgia will be starting on #25.
The Norwegian entry “Haba Haba” has been the favorite in the arena, but also failed. Also sad for Senit from San Marino, but she did not sing that accurate like in the rehearsals and she changed her hairstyle. On the other hand positive surprises: Switzerland is back again as well as Lithuania and Hungary. In the press conference the 10 qualifying countries have been celebrated and their spots in the final running order have been drawn. The show itself was nice but not spectacular; the interval act with the drums was nothing new or exciting. The host Stefan Raab did not even wear a suit. Generally it’s a good mixture of chosen songs, some dance songs from Hungary, Russia and Serbia, a rock song from Georgia, ballads from Finland, Azerbaijan, Switzerland and Lithuania. It all depends now on their spots in the grand final.
Chief Editor of eurovisionlive.com
About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
