The excitement is growing from day to day and the preparations are almost done. On Sunday from 10am the first rehearsal will take place in the Esprit Arena in Düsseldorf. There will be rehearsals everyday until the 14th of May. Every participant will at least have two rehearsals, the first is 40 minutes the second 30 minutes. The light, background and sound can be varied, even if the delegations have communicated their need in advance. After that there are three dress rehearsals with the complete line up of all participants in of the semi final with the postcards in a tight schedule. When a country qualifies for the final, there are additional three rehearsals for the big final. After each rehearsal the delegations have the possibility to hold a press conference in a small and intimate surrounding or a general press conference in the press conference hall. Due to the high number of participating countries the rehearsal week had to be prolonged and the delegations knew from a quite early time of the year when they have to be in Düsseldorf. Therefore the allocation draw took place, so that the delegations know if they start in Semi Final 1 in the first or second part of it.

About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
