From now on the official CD of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest is available in the music stores all over Europe – a must have item! The CD contains all 43 songs of the participating countries in a good quality. There is also a foreword of the new Executive supervisor Jon OlaSand, the successor of Svante Stockselius. He has been focusing on the enormous growth from 10 to 43 countries over the last 56 years. The official CD production of a Eurovision compilation has started in the year 2000, before there have been music cassettes and record in various countries but not on a regular or yearly basis only. So it was only possible to buy compilations of private single copies. So it’s great to see that the EBU has decided to produce an annually CD of the contest. The DVD is expected to come out a month after the big final. For all who are interested in the long history of the ESC it is possible to order the DVD’s of all 56 contests in multilingual versions in our shop.

About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
