The city of Düsseldorf is really happy and prepared to host this year’s Eurovision Song Contest for the first time. Hence the organizers had great ideas to establish a respectable social program for the culturally interested visitors. There will be concerts, a carnival parade, exhibitions, theatre and country days like an “Iceland Day” all around the city, but everything related to music, Eurovision and internationality. The highlights are: “Grand Prix de l’Opera” - the best arias of Opera in the Düsseldorf Opera house on May 9th, “Grand Prix Classics” a TV gala with lots of former ESC stars like JohnnyLogan, Katja Ebstein, Mary Roos, Nino de Angelo, Ingrid Peters and GuildoHorn, accompanied by the WDR orchestra on May 11th as well as the “Euroboat Party”, a river cruise on the Rhine on May 13th. Come to Düsseldorf and join the unique Eurovision flair!

About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
