Ten countries have made up their mind for their entry for Düsseldorf already. Tonight the host country Germany will determine the song 2011. Last year’s winner Lena would like to defend her title in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The show is called “Our song for Germany”. There have been two qualification rounds already with each six songs, the three best songs have been chosen by the TV-viewers. To guarantee a high quality level the organizers have been asking successful songwriters to compose a song for Lena. Two songs are written by Stefan Raab, in the case that one of his songs will be chosen, Stefan Raab is not allowed to be the host as well, and this is a rule since 2009. All six songs tonight are very radio friendly and contemporary, but only two songs really point out and have the potential of achieving a good position in Düsseldorf: “Taken by a stranger” and “Push Forward”.

About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
