As there is going to be a very exciting time in Helsinki in early May with the 52nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest there is also a musical alternative for the visitors of Helsinki and the Eurovision Song Contest. On Friday, May 11th there will be a classical concert of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra to be held in the famous Finlandia Hall. The concert will be dedicated to the most popular Finnish composer of classical music Jean Sibelius (1865 – 1957). He has composed seven symphonies, various concerts for violins, chamber music and one opera. This is another proof, how much Finland is happy and proud to host the contest for the first time.

Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
