The Danish national final “Melodi Grand Prix” is suffering from the corona virus panic. The entire audience cannot watch the show in the Royal Arena, due to the risk of corona. Ticketholders will be refunded accordingly.
This year it will be the 50th anniversary of the Danish Melodi Grand Prix, which will be held in the newly build Royal Arena, which can host up to 16.000 guests for concerts. In previous year the national final took place in various different cities, but this is the first time since 2002 that it will be held in Copenhagen again. For this special event an orchestra should have brought a special nostalgic touch.
There has been a semi final representatives from all Danish regions: Nordjylland, Midt & Vest, Østjylland, Trekanten, Esbjerg, Syd, Fyn, Sjælland, Nordvestsjælland, Bornholm and Copenhagen. Five songs have qualified for the Grand Final, three from public voting, two from jury voting and there was one wildcard. The other five songs have been determined by the Danish broadcaster DR. The hosts will be Hella Joof und Rasmus Bjerg.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
