Now it’s official: the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam 2020 will take place with 41 countries. This is the same number of participating countries like this year in Tel Aviv. Surprisingly, two countries have withdrawn: Hungary and Montenegro, but therefore two countries will come back after a year’s pause: Bulgaria and Ukraine. Of course a country is able to withdraw after the official deadline but only with paying a penalty fee. So until March there is still room for surprises.
But some countries which have not been seen for quite a while have not returned neither like Andorra, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Luxembourg, Monaco, Morocco, Slovakia and Turkey.
These countries have confirmed their participation:
Editor in Chief of eurovisionlive.com
About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
