Firstly there were rumours, but now we have the official confirmation by the EBU: Madonna will appear at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv. She is going to perform two songs “Future” and a new version of “Like A Prayer” in the interval act in the Grand Final on Saturday night. Madonna is going to release her new album and will be on promotion tour. It’s no secret that Madonna is closely connected to Israel and she is fulfilled with honour being part of it.
Everything is possible through the billionaire Sylvan Adams who is the mighty sponsor of one million dollars as fee. In 2016 superstar Justin Timberlake appeared as well in the interval act and presented his new song “Can’t Stop The Feeling”, which became a real summer hit. It’s to be expected that Madonna has the same goal.
Great to see such a big name in the Eurovision Song Contest. It just must be taken into consideration having such a super star in a show with mainly newcomers can occur even a more stressful situation as it increases the pressure and that the ESC competitors walk in the shade of Madonna.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
