Late at night the running order of the 26 finalists has been determined by the broadcaster RTP and the EBU reference group. This is a very crucial aspect on which starting position a country is being allocated to. The opener this year will be Melovin from Ukraine and the guys Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro from Italy will be the last performer.
It is said that position #2 is not a lucky number, and the first half is also less successful generally, that’s why all artists are keen to perform in the second half. And a majority of the viewers like to tune in later, when they come home. But a good song with a good performance will also be successful, no matter which starting position it has.
This is the running order of the 2018 ESC:
01. Ukraine 02. Spain 03. Slovenia 04. Lithuania 05. Austria 06. Estonia 07. Norway 08. Portugal 09. United Kingdom 10. Serbia 11. Germany 12. Albania 13. France 14. Czech Republic 15. Denmark 16. Australia 17. Finland 18. Bulgaria 19. Moldova 20. Sweden 21. Hungary 22. Israel 23. The Netherlands 24. Ireland 25. Cyprus 26. Italy

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
