Due to the poor results in the past years for Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest a new method has been evolved. The aim is to match the German choice with the music taste of the international audience in a better way.
For the first time there will be a European panel used which consists of 100 people chosen through social media sites to choose the right songs and candidates. Furthermore there will be an international jury of 20-25 former ESC jury members in the German national final to improve the international chances of a German song. Together with the German televoters an authentic a realistic result should be achieved.
The application deadline is November 6th, 2017 and there will be 20 candidates out of all the applicants with whom the producers are going to work with in a closer way and five finalists at the end. Ralph Siegel has also announced to compose a song for Germany again.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
