What another bad news, German ESC singer Joy Fleming has died in the age of 72. She represented Germany in the first Swedish Eurovision Song Contest 1975. Her song “Ein Lied Kann Eine Brücke Sein” has only reached the 17th place, but has become an ESC evergreen since. Joy Fleming has released over 30 singles and 25 albums and acted as a Jazz, Soul and Schlager singer.
She has had several attempts to enter the ESC again and had the following entries in the German pre decision:
Fleming & Berry “Miteinander” 4th place 1986
Lesley, Joy and Brigitte „The Power Of Trust“ 2nd place in 2001
Joy Fleming “Joy To The World” 2nd place in 2002

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
