This year we could have seen the longest red carpet in Eurovision history – over 250 meters long. The event took place in front of the Marsinsky Palace – the presidential palace, where the opening ceremony 2005 took place as well. The press has been allocated in different sections to guarantee a fluent event. Luckily the weather was good, the sun was shining and everybody seemed to have a good time. At the end of the red carpet the singers have been taken to the rooftop of the Euroclub to let they flag fly in the air with some balloons. The welcome ceremony took place in the Euroclub as well, where different important persons held their speeches and welcomed the delegations such as Vladimir Klitschko, Jon Ola Sand and Jamala.

About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
