The surprise of the night for Hungary is perfect. The Roma Joci Pápai could convince the Hungarian televoters as well as the jury with the gipsy song “Origo”. Hungary has mainly send very contemporary song to the ESC, this time the Hungarian entry is showing a totally different kind of music . It’s a traditional gipsy song with a very modern interpretation and a catchy rhythm.
The most interesting fact is that such an entry with a cosmopolitan attitude is representing Hungary, which is recently known for conservative values.
Maybe this entry will wake up people and it will definitely stand out in Kiev.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
