Information about the singer

In all Scandinavian countries the Eurovision Song Contest is one of the biggest TV events of the year. That’s the reason why there are so many pre decision marathons with the best viewing figures. Since Iceland’s debut in 1986 the Icelanders try their luck more or less successfully. Even if the quality standard was always above the average not many countries have been voting for this small country in the far north of Europe, especially not from Eastern Europe. Former Eurovision stars like Selma, who already made a second place in Jerusalem 1999 did not qualify in Kiev 2005 at her second attempt, due to missing votes from Eastern Europe.
“Is it true” is the name of the Icelandic selection this year. It’s a wonderful, esthetic love song with cello a beautiful singer and a great atmosphere. Furthermore it’s indeed a very good radio song, too. All this should bring Iceland into the final, due to the fact that ballads are quite successful recently.
The Danish born singer Jóhanna has grown up in Iceland made a career in New York and Los Angeles and has released an album called “Butterflies and Elvis”. The best of luck for Jóhanna!
