Information about the singer

Since the great success of Sertab Enerer’s winning entry “Everything that I can”, Turkey is sending it’s very best to Eurovision. They have already done this over all the past years, but never been heard and appreciated really. Maybe Turkey has recently profited from the musical trend like the Eastern European countries try to distinguish from he very beginning. That means using folkloristic elements like traditional instruments new melodies. But if that wasn’t enough, Turkey sends his biggest stars of contemporary Turkish pop music to be represented in front of a European wide stage. Turkey also takes a great advantage of the fact that many Turkish people live all over Europe who are always submitting their home country with high votes. So it’s is no wonder that Turkey never comes last anymore like in the 80’s and 90’s.

This year the group Mor ve Otesi is singing “Deli”, a contemporary Turkish pop song with a light rock tune. After listening to this for several times you may understand the message and the melody of the song, which isn’t a bad one. But this music is absolutely nothing for elderly people and maybe not convincing enough by first hearing.
