Information about the singer

Spain has joined the Eurovision family in 1961 and could win two times already, but the last time was quite a while ago in 1969. There were brilliant entries over the years, great ballads and Spanish pop music from the finest. Lots of the singers from Eurovision got popular in Spain and became huge stars like Azucar Moreno. Spain is normally known as one of the classic countries which is popular for it’s good high quality music, like Italy and France.

This year Spain is trying something new. No romantic love song or cool pop song from Spain this year. Spain has decided to send a gimmick song from the TV star Rodolfo to Belgrade. If this is the right choice we are going to see in May. There were and still are controversial discussions about this entry. Unfortunately this is not the only gimmick song, there more stupid songs from Ireland, Estonia, Latvia and Croatia. Many people fear that the reputation of Eurovision is in danger. Detractors will definitely disassemble this trend of gimmick songs. Countries with great music tradition will be exposed for a big laughter. It’s a shame when a German newspaper jump on those things like “No Angels have to sing against Irish turkey”.

Well, on the other hand every country must have the permission to send a gimmick song also. People will survive that. Maybe it’s only a one time experience. Remember Guildo Horn from Germany who was a shocker first, but everybody loved him afterwards. You will never know. But in regards of the TV spectators who would like to have pleasant and exciting evening, many will say “That’s too stupid for me” and will probably not watch it next year. This is also nothing for elderly people who like to listen to good entries like they used to be in former years.
The Spanish song is something new, a bit aggressive and a bit crooked, but the video clip has already become very popular in youtube. If such a song is going to win, the end of Eurovision is near.
