Information about the singer

This is already the fifth participation of Andorra at the Eurovision Song Contest. It seems that Andorra belongs to the unlucky new nations which never make it to the final. The four attempts of the recent years did not get many points and it’s not always the music quality what counts, it’s probably more the fact that the country is so small don’t have a real lobby, mainly France and Spain vote for Andorra. It was very obvious last year, as the fresh and young group Anonymous came along with one of the best songs of 2007 “Salvem El Món” and did not qualify surprisingly. Many banners in the audience have been raised up with “Where is Andorra?” It’s a pity that such countries don’t have a single chance anymore. The same situation with Monaco - it was very unsuccessful either and has withdrawn this year.

This year Gisela will sing “Casanova”. This is a typical Eurosong, nothing special really. It has a catchy melody and it’s an uptempo song it sounds a bit 90’s, like Lisa del Bo’s “Liefde is en kartspeel” from Belgium 1996. Andorra should send Anonymous again next year!
