What would the people like to hear at Eurovision? That’s the big question for more than 50 years. Eurovision has now become a real special event. As there are no juries anymore the viewers all over Europe have the chance to vote for their favorite song. That makes it even more exciting, but less predictable. Over the years some juries were almost give similar points. But nowadays it’s all a big excitement and a big party, too.
In the matter of fact that there are many private parties and also parties with huge screens on market squares, the music must be entertaining. People would like to have fun while watching it. The song must be fascinating and convincing. The time of the big ballads are certainly over, but ballads and calm songs still have a chance to receive many votes.
This year Norway tries something completely un-Norwegian. The song will be sung in Spanish and the music is Latino. Finland also tried something Spanish in 1989 (Anneli Saaristo with La dolce Vita) and ended up quite high. The strongest competitor for Norway this year is surprisingly not Spain but Portugal, because the song is slightly the same. Entertainment is granted, but the question is, if Guri has a good stage performance and furthermore, will this song stand out of the others?
