Welcome to Athens! This is the airport Eleftherios Venizelos.

The visitors are welcomed in a friendly way at the Athens Airport and the Eurovision atmosphere is joining in already.

Big posters all over the city advertise the big event. Futuristic design point to the future of Greece.

What many people worried about has become reality: there was a strike which obstructed the whole traffic of Athens. There were no buses and underground working and everybody had to take the long and expensive way by taxi.

Eurovision is everywhere. Helena Paparizou glints over the Omonia Square.

The city is full of antique treasures - beautiful frescos can be found everywhere.

This is one of the most famous sights - the Zapio - a congress and exhibition building in the National Garden of Athens.

The Stadium of Panathinaiko arranged the first Olympic Games of the modern times in 1896.

This a great view to the Acropolis from the Zeus Temple - the most significant building of Athens.

The temple of Zeus has been build from 650 B.C. ongoing 640 years to come to it's finish. Originally there were 104 pillars - now there are only 15 left.

The Plaka is the beautiful old town with lots of restaurants, cafés and tourist shops.

Roaming cats and dogs are a typical image in Athens.
