Information about the singer

Dreams become truth at Eurovision. In 1988 a totally unknown young singer from Canada named Céline Dion won the Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland with "Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi" in 1988. Since that she has started a world career like ABBA did it in 1974. Switzerland was the first country to host the contest in 1956 and also won it in the same year with "Refrain" sung by Lys Assia. After that Switzerland was more or less successful in the Eurovision history.
There were also other great entries like "Bonjour Bonjour" by Paola de Medico (Madrid 1969), "Swiss Lady" by The Pepe Lienhard Band (London 1977) or "Pas pour moi" ("Not For Me") sung by Daniela Simons (Bergen 1986).
Due to the bad result of last year with zero points in the semi-final, Switzerland has decided internally and there was no perdecision at all. This was obviously a very good decision. The Estonian girlsgroup Vanilla Ninja has been chosen to represent Switzerland this year. In the meantime they are living in Germany and they are quite popular internationally. They have also release a new album called "Traces of Sadness". A very interesting coincindece happened, the composer David Brandes is also the composer for Germany's entry sung by Gracia. So it's going to be quite exciting who will shape up better. Vanilla Ninja still have to qualify for the final, but there won't be a problem. The song "Cool Vibes" is a real cool popsong with a dramatic interlude. It's not comparable at all to fomer entries from Switzerland. The "Sleeping Beauty" is awake now with the highest chances to get a huge hit thoughout Europe. Go Vanilla Ninja!
