Information about the singer

Seven times Ireland has won the contest already. Due that fact Ireland is the most successful country in the Eurovision Song Contest. The Irish always knew how to produce popular music - mainly ballads - which were successful all over Europe. Beside the well know winner there are also some unforettable hits like: "It's nice to be in Love again" by the Swarbriggs (London 1977), "Terminal 3" by Linda Martin (Luxembourg 1984) and "Take him home" by Jump the Gun (Dublin 1988). Recently the enthuasiasm has decreased a bit in Ireland. There was no bigger success in the last years. The competition has grown - mainly from Eastern Europe and many people complained that Ireland always has the same sound.

Due to that fact Ireland will show up more modern. We have doubts that this will be the case. Since Donna and Joseph McCaul have won the Pop Idol there is something like a hysteria. The hometown Athlone is standing upside down since their vicotry. The song "Love?" is far the worst song of this year. Despite of the Irish sound in the song, Ireland will have it's difficulites to enter the Final.
