Poland has always been good for a surprise at the Eurovision Song Contest so far: shrill, extravagant and exciting - that's the music from Poland. Their most successful entry was the singer Edyta Gorniak with her hymn "To nie ja!" - she became 2nd in Dublin 1994. Last year in Riga the band Ich Troje did also well becoming 7th with their song "Keine Grenzen - Zadnych Granic" ("No borders") sung in Polish, German and Russian - they received 12 points from Germany! With that result Poland automatically qualified for the final on May 15th.
The Polish national final was won by a band called Blue Café with "Love Song". They even managed to leave Poland's most popular band Lzy behind them.
"Love Song" is a modern, thrilling latino touched song, which could easily be played by any radio station in the world - it very well reflects the musical variety of Poland at present. Good luck, Poland!
