Every year more and more countries are interested in participating in what is known as one of the World's greatest and most spectacular TV-shows: the Eurovision Song Contest! Last year saw a record number of 26 participating countries, which were almost too many to stuff into a three-hour-show. So a new concept had to be invented: the idea of a qualifying round was born taking place three days before the grand final. The past has shown us that new and exotic countries were able to contribute new energy and impulses to the Contest, which made the Eurovision even more colourful and exciting.
Albania is one of 2004's new countries. We are looking forward to finding out how exactly music from Albania is going to sound - maybe there are some Greek influences? Maybe a bit from Croatia? Maybe something completely different? We only know that singer Anjeza Shahini will perform a song called "Imazhi Yt" ("The Image Of You") which will be Albania's debut on an international stage in Istanbul. Good luck from all of us!
