Eurovision Song Contest 2004 Istanbul

Report from the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul 2004

Friday May 07th 2004

Istanbul by night - a feast for the eyes!
You will find many antique relics from ancient cultures here in Istanbul.
The wild Ruslana with the even wilder horse - here as a caricature.
Ruslana is celebrating herself. The press conference was more fun than seriousness.
One of the greatest national stars this year is Sakis from Greece. In his home country he is a living icon and a sex symbol and he has pretty good chances.
Probably the most beautiful female singer of this year: Sofia from Portugal!
The Portuguese delegation convinced their singing talent.
Lisa sing for Cyprus and enjoys the quieter time before the live-transmission.
A very sexy choreography by Sarkis from Greece offers more than you expect!
Marta from Andorra at the photo-shooting-wall.
The quite wild, a little bit crazy Ukrainian singer Ruslana promotes Deen from Bosnia. She shouldn't be scared to do this favour for her competitor.
The loveliest stage appearance has been choosen for Malta with green meadows, flowers and flying butterflies. This contribution should not be underestimated!
David D'Or has impressed everybody with his incredible counter-tenor voice.
Fomins & Klein from Latvia have been proven as multilingual and sung their song in Dutch for us!
The German composer Ralh Siegel is back, but this time for Malta as a producer - he wrote Germany's first winning song in 1982 "Ein bisschen Frieden" sung by Nicole.
The Swiss on the slightly visited press conference.
The Lativans on the impressive stage with a strong performance.
Alexandra & Konstantin from Belarus received their caricature - it's a nice memory of Istanbul.
The arena is still empty - on the top there are all the commentator-boxes.
The rehearsal of Belarus went a bit unhappily - there has been an accident with one of the band, who had to be brought into the hospital.
Jari from Finland with his caricature - a quite happy press conference.
The background dancers from Finland can do far more than just Tango! For eurovisionlive.com they offered a special show!
