Information about the singer

What would be the Grand Prix d'Eurovision without France? From France there were always great songs, sometimes the classical chanson, sometimes ultramodern, but always open for surprises - just think of: Amina (1991) "Le dernier qui a parlé" or Sandrine Francois (2002) with "Il faut du temps".

This year's French singer Louisa, comes from a small suburb of Paris. She early felt in love with music, because her mother at home often sang Italian songs.

1992 she met the Egyptian filmmaker Youssouf Chanik and played a role in a comedy and in 1997 she took part in the musical "Nine".

Her song "Monts et merveilles" (The moon and the stars) was chosen by the French television France 3 and does not appear as a typical French ballad. The song sounds a little bit Oriental, due to the exotic drums. But there is absolutely no Oriental meaning in the song. Louisa thinks that this is a light song, between heaven and the sea.
