| Cyprus
| ONE are very good on stage, they are all dressed in black, they are smiling, they are dancing and having fun. The colors of the stage have changed from black and white into black and blue. They really brought atmosphere in the Saku Suurhall. The Herrey's from Sweden have also won on the first starting place. But ONE are definitely better.
| | United Kingdom
| Jessica's rehearsals went quite well, even if some tones didn't felt comfortable in the ears of the listeners. The choir is brillian. It is nice to listen to a ballad from the United Kingdom, something very special.
| | Austria
| Manuel is a sunnyboy on the stage. The song received a warm applause during the rehearsals. With clapping hand the Austrians want to get some points.
| | Greece
| Michalis and his band have a very special show on stage. But this is also Eurovision! Do you remember the German band Kraftwerk (Expo Song 2000). They move like robots, everything appears quite futuristic but not at all Greek
| | Spain
| Rosa will bring a big celebration Spain! But the question is, will the Estonians be influenced, too? Normally all the people jumping from their seats, rising their hands and joining Rosa. Spain is a great favourite.
| | Croatia
| Vesna has a very special version to present her country with a glittering chain. Even if Croatia is more an Eastern European country, the Estonians were quite low in applauding to her song during the rehearsals. But she does a great job.
| | Russia
| Prime Minister have a good refrain in their song, but the white outfit looks not very nice. They will have great chances.
| | Estonia
| The Swede Sahlene looks great on stage, the has receive the utmost best applause in all the dress rehearsals. Estonia has quite high chances to do it second time. In the Eurovision history is has always been the case that the hosting country shapes up well.
| | Macedonia
| One of the most exciting dress of the evening. A wonderful interpretion of the Macedonian sung song. A great presentation!
| | Israel
| A song from which you can get a goose skin. Sarit enjoys a wonderful atmosphere on stage with imaginated candles. There are violin players accompanying her.
| | Switzerland
| Francine looks great, sings good - the perfect representor for Switzerland. The choir is great, the harmonies are allright - the Estonians loved it. Her dress is not transparent as expected!
| | Sweden
| Sweden makes the perfect music for Eurovision. A wonderful show from Afro-Dite. Great: the over dimensional disco bullet. All Europeans will shake the head like Afro-Dite does (shake it, shake it). The Top this year: glitter, glamour and dance. And everything in silver...
| | Finland
| A totally happy song, like the Swedish song. But in a much friendlier way - the stage is very colorful, and she is wearing the Finnish colors! Something like that is a totally new sound from Finland. A big applause during the rehearsals was always overwhelming. She will definitely in the top 5.
| | Denmark
| Malene is very sweet, but a little bit too nervous. She stands there totally alone at the end "catwalk" and seems a bit helpless. Her voice was not the strongest on Friday. By the way this song can easily be played on the radio. But we have our doubts that she will be in the top 10.
| | Bosnia
| Maja is always in a good mood and it's obviously that she is having fun on stage. But what is a motivated singer with a trash song? Even worse is the dress! Woolworth from the year 1976 for 9,99 €. Marlena from Slovenia is the only one we meet who loves that song!
| | Belgium
| Sergio makes a real show with his ladies. He also does a kind of gymnastic on stage, which is for entertainment, even if you have doubt of this song.
| | France
| Sandrine enjoys a wonderful colored stage, which suits perfectly to her win red dress. The song is far the best of all in this contest. She deserves to win, even if there are others who look better. What counts is the atmosphere.
| | Germany
| Why can't Corinna smile no longer than one second? That doesn't make a sympathic impression. The song appears artificially and obstrusive. It should please everyone. Some parts really sond cheap, beside of her great voice and it will kill every radio station - not for WDR 4 and Radio Niedersachsen in Germany.
| | Turkey
| Macedonia and Turkey are the few countries which bring oriental styled songs into Eurovision. The Turks sound great, a wonderful arrangement, melodic with a well lightened stage - all this gives a Mediterranian feeling - a summerhit. But the Estonians seems to dislike this and save their applause. A pity!
| | Malta
| She looks so beautiful. The song reminds on ABBA - she utilizes the whole stage. The Estonians liked it very much and spended a big applause.
| | Romania
| A wonderful ballad full of emotions. This is also a must in the Eurovision. The song has style and touches. But the chances for a higher rank are quite low. So sad!
| | Slovenia
| The shrilest song in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Sestre are willing to give EVERYTHING. And we are sure - they will! Everybody will have a chance to watch them enjoying their appearance on stage. They deserved it. Tolerance is very important. The cristalls of Svarowsky shine on their wonderful costumes. Slovenia also derseves to win. We think it will be in the top or in the lowest position.
| | Latvia
| Marie N doesn't have the most beautiful outfit, but the most changable. The song is catchy and stays in the listeners ears for a longer time. It's a definite summerhit. She will be accompanied by first class dancers.
| | Lithuania
| Aivaras is singing a real happy song, but his outfit is even worse than the Bosnian one. Knitted sweaters are nice - but not on stage! It's a crime for the eyes! But even though the Estonians like this song very much.

The first day of the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest week began with a sunny weather and a good atmosphere. That's maybe due to the tranquility of Tallinn itself, so that this atmosphere was transmitted to the contest. Even if the Estonian staff in the press area had problems with the mass of accreditated journalists to answer all the questions at the same time.
The Saku Suurhall is the biggest concert hall in the Baltic states, which was finished at the end of last year. The normal capacity of specators are about 10.000, but for the Eurovision Song Contest there is only a number of 6.000 seats available. In comparison to last years contest in Copenhagen (38.000 spectators) it seems to be a small number, but may have more atmosphere. Popular performers have already been in the hall like Roxette, Rammstein and Vanessa Mae. This multifunctional hall also offers possiblities for sport events, like for the Estonian basketball club Kalev. Within a few months there were already over 120.000 spectators visiting the arena.
The first country who also has the honour of opening the contest is Cyprus. They started with their rehearsals and a press conferences was followed by this. So it went along with United Kingdom, Austria, etc.. The time schedule is quite narrow, so there is always not too much time. But some journalists were asking a little bit to many questions with the result of a delay.
Also due to that was the fact that the rehearsals of Switzerland and Sweden were that late, so that they were not able to join the state reception in the national opera. The journalist also had to suffer because of that.
The shuttle busses didn't drive that regularly, so a lot of people need to use a taxi. The taxi drives want to make the business of their life trying to make as much money as possible. For a 10-minutes-trip they wanted to have 20 Euro!
For us, the state reception went very successfully. We made interviews with the singers of: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Macedonia, Germany, Lithuania and Malta. Additionally to the interview with the German singer Corinna May we could persuade "Mr. Eurovision" Ralph Siegel to give a statement.
The reception was also a musical experience, there were lots of artists who made music and there was also an Estonian folk dance group who enforced some guests for a square dance. The atmosphere was great.
After that the Euro Club was held in the hotel Oluempia, where all the participants could enjoy and relax from the first stressful day, even the British singer Jessica was dancing all night long. We should mention that it is possible to watch the rehearsals in the Eurovision hotels due to a special line. Estonia is a modern country. You even don't need coins for the parking meter, you can use your mobile telephone for that!

| The Saku Suurhall. |
| The Saku Suurhall is the greatest arena in the Baltic Countries. There will be 6.000 spectators in the hall on Saturday. Worldwide there are going to be over 640 million tv specators! The beautiful weather here in Tallinn is characteristic for the Eurovision Song Contest. The sun is shining for Eurovision! The Estonian will do everything to promote the country, so therefore they made an intro like in former year. That intro was missing last year in Copenhagen and was very disappointed. Estonia is famous for its choirs. That's because there will be a big choir in the interval act, too. Let's be excited!
